Days 1 and 2
Arrival into Santa Cruz and Travel to the Animal Sanctuary
The team will fly into the city of Santa Cruz in eastern Bolivia and will rest, relax and be briefed before heading off to the animal sanctuary, located in the small village of Villa Tunari.  

Days 3-13
Parque Machia Animal Sanctuary, Villa Tunari
The first two weeks will be spent looking after the numerous animals at the sanctuary. Each person will be given one animal or a small group of animals to take care of for the duration of their stay at the project. All members of the team will be given the unique opportunity to take Gato, one of the pumas for a walk through the jungle with one of the long term Bolivian volunteers.

Days 14 and 15
Cochabamba to La Paz
On the last morning at the park, we say our sad farewells to both the animals and the Bolivian volunteers, but can look forward to a week of exploring some of Bolivia and Peru's highlights. We head off by bus to the city of Cochabamba, where we sleep before flying early the next morning to La Paz. Here you will have the chance to explore the numerous colourful markets and the Coca museum or simply just take in what is arguably one of the most fascinating and stunningly located cities in all of South America.

Days 16-19
The Bolivian and Peruvian Islands of Lake Titicaca
We leave La Paz to discover the ancient and remarkable archaeological ruins of Tiahuanaco, thought to date back as far as 1600 BC. In the afternoon we travel along the beautiful shores of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, to the town of Copacabana, where we rest for the night. The next morning we take a short boat ride across the lake to the stunning island of "Isla Del Sol", birth place of the Incas, where we enjoy the incredible views walking from one end of the island to the other. Returning to the mainland in the early morning sun, we cross over into Peru and visit the fascinating indigenous communities of the reed islands, before travelling to Cusco.

Days 20 and 21
Cusco and Machu Picchu
Here you have the whole day to explore the beautiful architecture and setting of the city of Cusco, the heart of the Inca empire. Early the next morning we will take the train through the mesmerizing scenery of the Sacred Valley to the town of Aguas Calientes. You will have the day to explore the world famous ruins of Machu Picchu before returning to Cusco later in the evening for a well deserved farewell meal at one of Cusco's top restaurants.  A perfect way to end your time in South America!
